We are proud to offer internships for 4 different sessions throughout the year, internships are available to HS seniors and college students.

Application Process: Internship Opportunities


We are excited to offer internship opportunities for college students and high school seniors in various positions related to hockey, accessibility, advocacy, and nonprofit operations. To apply, please follow the steps outlined below:


Step 1: Application


1.1. Access the official internship application form.


1.2. Complete the application form, providing the following information:

- Full Name

- Contact Information (Email, Phone Number)

- Current School and Year (e.g., College Sophomore, High School Senior)

- Major or field of study

- Academic advisors contact information

- Permanent Address and Address in Minnesota (if applicable)

- Position Preference (Assistant to Hockey Coach/Scout, Social Media Intern, Fundraising Intern, Outreach/Education Speaker)

- Brief Personal Statement (Why you're interested in this internship and how it aligns with your career goals)

- Relevant Experience or Background in Hockey (if applicable)

- Any Relevant Certifications (if applicable)

Step 2: Interview Process


2.1. Our selection committee will review all applications and shortlist candidates based on their qualifications and potential for growth.


2.2. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an online interview. During the interview, we will assess your commitment, motivation, and passion for the internship.


2.3. Interviews will be conducted by experienced professionals from our organization.


2.4. After the interviews, successful candidates will receive an email notification regarding their selection.


Step 3: Internship Preparation


3.1. Once selected, interns will be required to attend an orientation and onboarding session to familiarize themselves with the organization, its goals, and the specifics of their roles.


3.2. Internship prep sessions will include:

- Meeting with your mentor to set expectations and goals for the internship.

- Discussion of the internship schedule and responsibilities.

- Introduction to relevant tools and resources.

- Guidance on working both independently and collaboratively with the team.


3.3. Interns may be provided with relevant materials, such as guidelines, schedules, and industry-specific resources, to ensure a smooth transition into their roles.

Internship Description


Are you a college student or high school senior with a passion for hockey, accessibility, advocacy, and nonprofit operations? Do you have a connection to Minnesota and a desire to make a positive impact on your community? If so, we have the perfect internship opportunity for you!

 
Location: Hybrid online with some in-person tasks local to the Twin Cities area. 


Position Options:
1. Hockey Intern - Sports Management/Coaching/Scouting
2. Social Media and Marketing Intern
3. Finance and Fundraising Intern
4. Outreach/Education Intern
5. NEW - Business Management and Leadership Internship

What You Can Expect:
- Weekly meetings with a selected speaker, where you'll learn about hockey, accessibility, and advocacy.
- 2-10 hours per week of internship tasks and/or shadowing your mentor.
- Bi-weekly meetings with your mentor to develop relevant skills.

Who Should Apply:
- College students or high school seniors who used to (or currently) live in Minnesota and will be back in MN for the internship period.

- People looking to gain experience in hockey, accessibility and advocacy, or nonprofit operations. 

- Preferably, but not required, individuals with a background in hockey (we believe having this background gives you a unique perspective to best serve the community we work with).

Goals of the Program:
- For the intern to learn and develop relevant industry skills in their chosen position.
- For the intern to gain a better understanding of disability and the hockey industry.
- For the intern to challenge themselves and explore if this industry aligns with their future goals.
